Underwriting Operations Technician – Outwards - Chubb External Careers

Role purpose: Manage an allocated portfolio of Multinational Programs, including instructions to the network, engagement with producing brokers, and program maintenance, demonstrating strong customer knowledge and business partnership & consulting skills.

Respond to queries from brokers, network partners, and other Chubb offices, utilizing active listening and customer service support skills to ensure effective communication and resolution.

Support other Chubb offices in managing complex programs handled by the country, including: Program maintenance on internal Chubb applications and instructions to the network, ensuring operational excellence.

Complete reinsurance and premium booking instructions with attention to detail.

Handle Captive premium tracking and booking instructions, applying records management skills.

Conduct program tracking activities, such as chasing local policy issuance, following up on reinsurance documentation and booking, and providing reporting, using data analysis and service delivery effectiveness skills.

Handle booking queries alongside Finance teams, employing troubleshooting skills to resolve issues efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Communicate and build relationships with Underwriters, overseas offices, and other Chubb staff, functioning as a trusted advisor and demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.

Manage workloads in accordance with Service Level Agreements, showcasing time management and multi-tasking and prioritization skills.

Work within the framework of Chubb ethical and compliance standards, ensuring adherence to quality and service standards.

Ensure multinational workbooks are prepared, maintained, and completed in accordance with the Global Services Department standards, demonstrating attention to detail and operational excellence.

Assist with ongoing projects identified throughout the year for improvements to the Global Services Department, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Perform incidental work that may be required outside the scope of day-to-day work requirements, adapting to changing environments and priorities.

Requirements

  • Professional language skills in English, and C1-C2 level of German is Essential
  • Previous experience in an underwriting support role is a plus.
  • Insurance background is preferred.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong customer service skills and a customer-centric attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and a desire to deliver and improve quality.
  • Problem resolution and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as on own initiative.
